Brian Eno Calls On Backing to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Festive Top Spot.

A charity drive is aiming to send a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The campaign seeks to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians this festive season. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it fails to, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”

Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded after a major charity concert held in September. Originally intended to be done as a live recording, the performance was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of performers featured on Lullaby encompasses a selection of acclaimed names from the industry. All participated in the September show, which managed to collect a significant sum for relief efforts.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was brought to life by a team of producers and composers. The single features a mix of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The team running the initiative have stated that their goal is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These resources will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a representative commented. “We aim for as much as possible. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the region was described as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of infrastructure said to be destroyed or damaged.

“Given that reality, a couple of million won't make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is primarily raising awareness for this issue and proving that another narrative exists.”

The track is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a video of the solidarity show will be made accessible to view on a major video platform from mid-December.
