Franchise leads Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are confirmed to reprise their roles in the new Hunger Games series movie, Sunrise on the Reaping.
Reports indicate that beloved actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the newest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Production is currently underway.
A Major Return to Panem
The actors are returning as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the roles they originated. It is believed their cameos will likely occur in a flash-forward sequence, as the main film series concluded with their characters living in peace.
This signifies the sixth cinematic outing in the global Hunger Games franchise.
Delving Into the Prequel
Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a 2025 novel by author Suzanne Collins. It acts as the second film set before the original story after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. For this project is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed most of the previous films in the series.
The Storyline and Fresh Faces
The film's story are set 24 years before the first Hunger Games, focusing on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, later known as Katniss's mentor, is shown as a tribute in the deadly 50th Hunger Games.

- Jesse Plemons will portray Plutarch Heavensbee.
- Ralph Fiennes is cast as a younger version of the menacing President Snow.
