Spurs Manager Thomas Frank Labels Vicario Booers 'Not Genuine Fans'

Fulham Begin Powerfully to Defeat Spurs and Increase Pressure on the Manager

Spurs supporters who booed goalkeeper Vicario were informed afterwards "those individuals can't be real Tottenham fans" by boss Frank.

Tottenham conceded two scores in the first six minutes to lose 2-1 to their opponents, registering their tenth top-flight home defeat of the year.

However the main topic of discussion was the visitors' second goal when Vicario gave away the ball far beyond his box.

He came out to deal with a long ball and carried the ball towards the sideline.

However, rather than booting it into touch, the Italy international turned and attempted to clear, but lost his footing as the ball glanced off Wilson and was controlled by King.

The forward laid the ball off to Welsh midfield player Wilson, who bent a strike into the goal from the touchline measured at 36.6 yards.

Seconds later when the ball came to the keeper again, some Spurs supporters jeered him.

The team were booed off at half-time, with the club 2-0 behind, and again at the final whistle.

A particular of those jeering episodes truly angered the manager.

"It came to my attention a few of our supporters reportedly booed the situation and jeered following, which, in my view is completely unacceptable," the Dane commented regarding the supporters' response to his goalkeeper.

"[They] can't be true Tottenham fans that act that way. Alright booing after the game, fine, but when we are playing, we are supporting one another, we are with each other moving ahead."

Kenny Tete had handed the visitors a early advantage prior to Harry Wilson's goal – with Kudus scoring for Spurs in an better second-half showing.

Ex- Premier League keeper Joe Hart remarked that the next goal was "completely avoidable".

"I certainly appreciate the fans' frustration," Hart continued. "I am aware the part the keeper is performing. He's a excellent team player, he's a real leader in the locker room but ultimately you are going to be assessed by your decisions.

"He was deeply involved in what turned out to be the decisive goal."

'It is In the Game, I Can Handle It'

Frank Stood Up For His Goalkeeper Vicario Following the Match

Italy international the keeper is in his third season with Spurs.

He said following the match that he had to take the feedback.

"That goal was a error of mine, I take accountability for it," he commented.

"My aim was to clear the ball long and I simply hit the ball in a poor manner. It was an more difficult challenge to climb."

He said being booed "comes with football".

"I'm a big man, what can I say?" he added. "We cannot be affected by the situation in the crowd. The fans have the right to do what they think.

"It's on the team to remain increasingly composed, to focus on our own performance. The team is lacking in calmness and poise to overturn results. This match is a bad loss and it's hard to take."

'It Shocked Me No One Returned to the Line'

Despite Vicario's error, it was not an simple score for Harry Wilson to score.

In fact it was the next longest-range top division goal of the campaign – following Adams' 43.3 yard goal for the Cherries against Sunderland, which interestingly also occurred on the same day.

The goalscorer stated he was "a little bit taken aback" that he still had an empty goal to aim for.

Ten moments elapsed between the keeper coming out of his box and Wilson striking – which was 5 moments following the clearance.

"I felt like the keeper was away from the box for ages," Wilson remarked.

"I was surprised not one of the defenders went back to the line. When not one of them covered the net, my interest lit up somewhat.

"Udogie slipped as well, which gave me a bit of extra time. After that it was all about trying to make the correct connection and get it towards goal. I felt a positive sense, as soon as it left my foot, that it was on the right line."

'During in a Bad Spell, Everything Seems to Work Against You'

Booing Whilst We Are Still Playing Is Completely Unacceptable - the Manager

Although Vicario's mistake led headlines, this was an overall poor day for Spurs to extend their home woes.

The match was their 10th at home defeat of 2025 in the league, a joint team record along with nineteen ninety-four and 2003.

They still have home games against the manager's old side Brentford and title holders Liverpool to come prior to the end of the season.

Just a single of those wins have come after Frank took over from Ange Postecoglou in the off-season.

"If you are down 2-0 following the opening, there is a huge challenge to climb," stated Frank.

"During in a bad spell, all aspects seems to go against you as well – the opening was a deflected attempt, the next is a error from the keeper.

"The outcome puts us in a position where we have lost another match. Each fixture has a single story, today we were defeated in the early stages.

"We just need to keep working. The second half was significantly improved and with luck an aspect we can utilize to learn."

Tottenham have been defeated in 4 consecutive at home capital clashes for the initial time in the Premier League.

Furthermore they are recording nine point five shots and 3.2 efforts on goal per game in the Premier League – their lowest averages on file in a single campaign (dating back to the 2003-04 season).

Former Cottagers midfielder Danny Murphy stated that Frank has to ride the storm.

"He's got accept the criticism," the pundit said. "He has accepted a high profile job at a major football club with enormous anticipation. There is pressure and duty that accompanies that.

"Their showings at their stadium have been disappointing and they have to improve {quickly|
