Passionate fans of the pop star are calling for that a person who breached a barricade and grabbed the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be detained or deported from Singapore.

A circulating clip depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the cast walked down a event pathway surrounded by onlookers.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo quickly wrested the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being removed of the gathering by guards.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being detained", though official papers showed that he was scheduled to attend court on the next day. It is not clear if he was faced legal action.

History of Disruptions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram feed contains videos of him disturbing other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney show in June this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last winter.

"There needs to be action applied against him as this is evidently a legal violation," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a response to a video Mr Wen shared of his actions.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user questioned.

Fans Show Disapproval Over Grande's Well-being

Several fans blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had discussed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a devastating incident at the end of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming numerous individuals.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said one more comment on Instagram.

Several attendees also criticised guards at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals called for social media platforms to remove Mr Wen's uploads.

Reaction and Event Details

In footage spreading on the internet, Grande appeared surprised when she was touched by the individual. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the remaining proceedings proceeded as normal.

Hundreds of Singapore supporters had lined up to see the cast of Wicked

Many of attendees had congregated in a mass of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional premiere in a Singapore mall, including some who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it began.

The movie, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the sequel of a two-part adaptation of the well-known Broadway and West End production Wicked, which centers on the unlikely friendship between two very different witches.

The production itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a champagne pink sparkling outfit at the gathering while Erivo, who portrays the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress decorated with roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing movie of 2024 in the UK, and received 10 Oscar nominations, securing a pair for outstanding attire and production design.
